BIGGEST EVER NATIONWIDE INITIATIVE TO RESTORE NATURE IN ENGELAND SET FOR LAUNCH

14 November 2020

ENGLAND-WIDE INITIATIVE LAUNCHED ON 5 NOVEMBER 2020

Government 25 year environment plan to recover nature across the length and breadth of the country, and help everybody access and enjoy it.

The Nature Recovery Network (NRN) Delivery Partnership, led by Natural England, brings together representatives from over 600 organisations (Government, landowners, businesses, conservationists and farmers).

The Nature Recovery Network will:

  • Restore 75% of protected sites to favourable condition so nature can thrive.
  • Create or restore at least 500,000 additional hectares of wildlife-rich habitat outside of protected sites.
  • Recover our threatened and iconic animal and plant species by providing more habitat and wildlife corridors to help species move in response to climate change.
  • Support the planting of 180,000 ha of woodland.
  • Deliver a range of wider benefits, including carbon capture, flood management, clean water, pollination and recreation.
  • Bring nature much closer to people, where they live, work, and play, boosting health and wellbeing.

NATURE NOW

30 October 2020

Reduce our Carbon Footprint?   I heard of this several years ago and had to look up these words. What 'footprint'?  Now everyone seems to know what  it entails.

We all love nature don't we? We all have to start somewhere in making a change, as we love our gardens, the wildlife, want to have a great family, enjoy our food. So....what action are we going to take?

WE ONLY HAVE ONE WORLD

IS THE BIRDMILL SQUIRREL PROOF?

29 October 2020

IS THE BIRDMILL SQUIRREL PROOF? - is the question which I have been asked.

Well, it definitely deters a squirrel as it is not easy for the squirrel to get hold of the birdfeeders which are on the BIRDMILL.  This will start to spin once there is weight put onto the birdfeeder. The squirrel is likely to search for an easier option to get food.

BEHIND THE SCENES

28 October 2020

This is how it looks like 'BEHIND THE SCENES'.  Lots of cardboard to be folded to get this nice compact BIRDMILL box.   We are using a West Midlands company for our cardboard and are hereby trying to do our bit in reducing the carbon footprint.
